Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Home Care Worker in the Windsor region to help aged clients stay independently at home. You will perform housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and provide social support and transport to activities.

The role requires a valid Australian driver's licence and owned insured vehicle. We offer guaranteed hours and shifts, an award rate of $32.61 per hour plus super and paid kilometres, plus benefits including salary packaging up to $18,550 tax-free each year and

Qualifications

• Open class Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.
• Interest in community care or aged care; experience preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services to aged care clients (housekeeping, cleaning, laundry).
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• An Open class Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities

Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
