Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Home Care Worker to support older community members on the Sunshine Coast, including Buderim, Caloundra and Maroochydore. This entry-level, casual role offers an award rate of about $40.77 per hour plus superannuation and paid kilometres, with a view to permanent part-time opportunities.

You will work independently, build relationships with clients and their families, and help with home tasks, meals and transport to activities while pursuing professional qualifications

Qualifications

• Open class Australian Driver's Licence required
• Own insured, roadworthy vehicle required
• Interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential)

• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Help the family carer take a break or do other activities

Job description

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person to join the Silverchain team in Sunshine Coast south region (Buderim, Caloundra, Glenview, Maroochydore etc...).

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• An Open class Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
