Job summary

Silverchain is seeking Home Care Workers in Australia to provide in-home care for aged clients, performing housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and transport to activities.

Role requires empathy, reliability and the ability to work independently while building strong relationships with clients and their families. CPR/First Aid training is provided, with opportunities for growth in a not-for-profit care organisation.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Enjoy having variety in their day.

• Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
