Job summary

Uniting AgeWell is seeking Home Care Workers to support clients in Burnie, Tasmania with direct care, domestic assistance, social support and transport as required. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to recognise changes in clients’ conditions, uphold rights and cultural needs, and provide friendly, professional service.

Applicants should have a Certificate III/IV in Individual Support or equivalent, current First Aid and CPR, and a valid Victorian/Tasmanian Driver's Licence.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support (Aged or Disability) or equivalent (or currently studying a Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing).
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Current and valid Victorian/Tasmanian Driver's Licence.
• Experience in a home care setting or providing domestics support is desirable.
• Knowledge in community care with a commitment to high standards of care for clients and their families.
• Understanding of client directed care.
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions.
• Commitment to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and domestic assistance duties, social support and transport as required for clients.
• Support clients in Burnie and work within a multidisciplinary team to provide effective support and escalate observations as needed.
• Promote high-quality activities and outstanding customer service in interactions with clients and their families.
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise.
• Respect clients' rights and cultural and individual needs in all aspects of care.

About the role

Home Care Workers

provide direct care and domestic assistance duties, as well as social support and transport as required for clients.

These roles will see you supporting clients in Burnie. You will:

• Ensure that client's rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily living
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective support to clients, recognise changes in clients' conditions and escalation observations and concerns in accordance with Uniting AgeWell processes
• Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
• Must have your own car (registered in your own name), valid insurance and a currentVictorian/Tasmanian driver's licence
