Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking a Care Worker to support older community members in their homes in the Kilkenny area.

You will provide home help and personal care, including housekeeping, meal prep and medication assistance, with paid CPR/First Aid training and opportunities for qualifications.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support (dependant).
• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• New to Aged Care – Full training and support provided.
• Experienced – Confident delivering day-to-day home care tasks.
• Advanced/Qualified – Relevant qualifications and strong capability will attract a higher hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting clients to take their medications.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

What We’re Looking For
