Job summary

Australian Unity is seeking Home Care Support Workers to assist elderly clients at home in Queanbeyan and surrounding areas. The role requires a current Australian Driver's Licence with own car, 3+ months in Aged Care, and availability for 6+ hours daily on weekdays.

Training is provided, including travel for training purposes. Permanent part-time or casual contracts are offered with competitive hourly rates and travel time reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Australian Drivers' Licence with your own car.
• Have 3+ months industry experience in a paid Aged Care setting.
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours a day between 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
• Commitment to the 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training; travel is required for training.

Responsibilities

• Provide domestic assistance such as cleaning, vacuuming, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Provide personal care services including showering, toileting, and assistance with medications; support with transport for clients.
• Be a friendly face and brighten someone's day and provide compassionate in-home support.

Do you meet these minimum requirements?

• Live in or near Queanbeyan including surrounding suburbs Barton, Burra, Crestwood, Fyshwick, Googong, Griffith, Jerrabomberra, Karabar, Kingston, Narrabundah.
• Hold a current Australian Drivers' Licence with your own car (sorry, we cannot accept International licences or shared/rental vehicles)
• Have 3+ months industry experience in a paid Aged Care setting
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours a day between 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday(weekend is a bonus)
• Commitment to our paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training when you start! (Get ready to learn, grow & be supported!) Travel is required for training.

What this role offers:

• Open to Experienced candidates
• Permanent Part-Time or Casual Contracts
• Permanent Contract hours: 30-40 hours per fortnight + flex up hours.
• Hourly Rate: $34.80 - $36.59 per hour (effective 11th July 2026) - depending on experience + 12% super + $0.92/km allowance + paid travel time

• Provide personal care services including showering, toileting, assistance with medications, as well as domestic duties & social supports such as assisting with transportation for clients.
