Job summary

Brophy Family & Youth Services in Warrnambool, VIC, is seeking a full-time Social Services practitioner to work with children, young people and families. You will undertake intake, assessment, planning and coordination, and provide supported referrals and case reviews in alignment with relevant frameworks.

Experience with trauma-informed approaches and child protection systems is essential. A current driver’s licence and willingness to drive are required as part of service delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Welfare Work required (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated knowledge of child protection and out-of-home care practices.

Responsibilities

• Engage with children, young people and families using engagement strategies (assertive engagement, outreach, persistence).
• Undertake case management including intake, assessment, planning, coordination, referrals, reviews and closure.
• Facilitate and support access arrangements for children and young people.
• Utilise interventions and frameworks such as Best Interest, Looking After Children, trauma and attachment theories, solution-focused approaches.
