Job summary

AECOM’s Perth highways team is growing to deliver major transport infrastructure across Western Australia. We seek an experienced Design Manager to lead complex multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with technical leaders and leveraging AECOM’s national and global design network.

You will drive design management, client outcomes, and cross-team coordination while mentoring staff and supporting capability growth within the Highways business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or senior engineer in highways or major transport infrastructure.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams across complex road projects.
• Extensive knowledge of highways design standards and governance frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and client management capabilities.
• Collaborative leadership style with a focus on developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management and delivery of major highways and road projects across WA and ANZ.
• Manage multidisciplinary design teams across highways, drainage, pavements, structures, utilities, traffic and ITS.
• Own project scope, programme, commercial performance, technical delivery and client outcomes.
• Coordinate delivery across Perth, interstate and global teams for complex programs.
• Build strong relationships with Main Roads WA and key transport stakeholders.
