Job summary

Hoppers Crossing Secondary College in Melbourne is seeking a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver programs aimed at improving student outcomes across Years 7–12. The role requires applying high-quality teaching practices, data-informed instruction and strong collaboration with students, parents and staff.

You will contribute to school priorities, undertake mentoring, supervise student teachers where appropriate, and reflect on practice to continually raise teaching quality in line with

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.
• Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching and organisational duties as directed by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other duties to support school priorities and student learning outcomes.
