Job summary

Hoppers Crossing Secondary College, located in the western corridor of Melbourne, seeks a classroom teacher focused on planning, preparation and delivery of programs to achieve student outcomes. The successful candidate will engage in evidence-based teaching, collaborate with staff, and work to improve student learning, wellbeing and engagement within a diverse school community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the curriculum including literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Supervise and train student teachers and use data to inform teaching approaches.
