Job summary

ICOM / AESC is seeking an experienced Height Safety Technician in Sydney to perform annual inspection and testing of height safety systems. You will ensure safe access for clients and third parties to maintain plant and equipment on site, while performing general maintenance safely.

Key duties include inspecting, testing and certifying equipment to AS/NZS standards, preparing site diagrams and reports, and managing records such as SWMS, notes and photographs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current driver's licence.
• Height safety and construction induction certificates preferred.
• Willing to obtain police check and Working with Children check as required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and written reporting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and certify height safety equipment in accordance with AS/NZS 1891 Series.
• Oversee Industrial Fall Arrest Systems and Devices per AS/NZS 4488 Series.
• Assess Industrial Rope Access Systems and AS 1657 platforms and ladders.
• Write reports and prepare site diagrams for inspections.
• Maintain records: reports, site notes, drawings, correspondence, SWMS and photos.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Height Safety Technician to perform annual inspection and testing of height safety systems. This role contributes to providing a service to our clients that enables safe access for the client and third parties to maintain plant and equipment on their sites and perform general maintenance activities safely.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Inspect, test and certify height safety equipment in accordance with AS/NZS 1891 Series
• Industrial Fall Arrest Systems and Devices, AS/NZS 4488 Series
• Industrial Rope Access Systems and,
• AS 1657 Fixed Platforms, Walkways, Stairways and Ladders - Design, Construction and Installation.
• Write reports and prepare site diagrams for inspections
• Records Management, including reports, site notes, drawings, correspondence, completed SWMS, and photographs.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

• Must hold and maintain a current driver's licence during the term of your employment.
• Working Safely at Heights (if not held already, be willing to attend a course to obtain certificate).
• General Construction Induction (if not held already, be willing to attend a course to obtain certificate).
• Must be able to pass a police check every two years and hold (and renew) working with children check
• High level of computer skills using Microsoft Office suite
• Experience working in the height safety industry installing height safety equipment or alternatively trade based skills sets would be highly regarded
• A driven professional with a passion for Height Safety and the built environment. Self motivated, can work unsupervised.
• A passion for safety, policies and procedures with a sharp eye for detail. High level communicator bother verbally and written.
