Job summary

Aurelia Metals Limited is seeking a safety-focused Heavy Diesel Tradesperson – Leading Hand to join the Mobile Maintenance Team at Peak Mine, Cobar NSW. This hands-on role combines trade work with day-to-day team leadership supporting underground heavy vehicle tradespeople.

You’ll diagnose, repair and maintain underground mobile equipment such as CAT loaders, ITS and Agi trucks, coordinating tasks with the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to maximise fleet reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Certificate or equivalent.
• Previous Leading Hand experience in a similar role.
• Underground hardrock mining experience, with exposure to mobile plant including CAT Loaders, ITS and Agi Trucks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.

About the role

We are seeking a safety-focused Heavy Diesel Leading Hand to join our Mobile Maintenance Team. This hands-on role combines trade work with day-to-day team leadership, supporting a small team of underground heavy vehicle tradespeople.

You’ll diagnose, repair and maintain underground mobile equipment, including loaders, haul trucks, graders and shotcreters, across our underground and surface workshops. Working closely with the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll coordinate tasks, troubleshoot issues and help maximise fleet reliability, minimise downtime and maintain high safety and performance standards, using your expertise in diagnostics, hydraulics, welding and servicing.

Roster: 7/7 (Day & Night Shift)

Crew: B/C

Shift Start: 7 Oct, 21 Oct, 4 Nov, 18 Nov

Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW

Travel options

Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance

DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance

FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

Qualifications & Experience

Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Certificate or equivalent

Previous Leading Hand experience in a similar role

Underground hardrock mining experience, with exposure to mobile plant including:
