Job summary

CMV Truck & Bus Albury/Wodonga is seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair a wide range of trucks. You will have access to the latest diagnostic technology, ongoing training, and strong team support to grow your career.

This full-time role offers Monday–Friday work with rostered Saturdays, across premium brands including Volvo, Mack, and UD, with above-award hourly pay and generous employee perks.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills with a focus on safety.
• Experience in the heavy vehicle industry (preferred but not essential).
• Knowledge of American, European, or Japanese drivelines is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, servicing, and inspections on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and drivelines.
• Use diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.
• Prepare detailed reports on repair work and recommendations.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and support safe work practices.

About the role

We’re seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our dedicated team. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll take charge of servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of trucks. This full-time role (Monday–Friday, with rostered Saturday work) offers variety, stability, and the chance to work across premium brands including Volvo, Mack, and UD.

Your main responsibilities

• Carrying out repairs, servicing, and inspections on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and drivelines
• Using advanced diagnostic software and computer systems to identify and resolve issues
• Preparing detailed, clear reports on repair work, supplies, and recommendations
• Mentoring and guiding apprentice technicians, ensuring safe work practices

You will need to have

• Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalent
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills with a focus on safety
• Experience in the heavy vehicle industry (preferred but not essential)
• Knowledge of American, European, or Japanese drivelines (highly regarded)
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Current HC/HR licence (advantageous, not essential)
• Own toolkit and full working rights in Australia
