Job summary

CMV Truck & Bus Clayton offers a rigorous four-year apprenticeship program to become a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Technician. Trainees will diagnose, repair and maintain trucks and buses, working with diesel engines, electrical systems and brakes in a modern CMV workshop.

Participants gain hands-on experience using advanced diagnostic tools and complete a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, supported by experienced trainers.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in mechanical trades and automotive activities.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and hands-on aptitude.

Responsibilities

At CMV Truck & Bus Clayton you’ll learn how to diagnose, overhaul, repair, inspect and test a wide range of trucks and buses. As well as working with a range of diesel engines, you will gain experience in electrical systems and brakes. You will be exposed to CMV Truck & Bus modern workshop equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools.

CMV Truck & Bus Offers an intensive 4 year apprentice training program, providing theory and on-the-job components as part of their Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to begin a career as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel technician working on Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Truck and Volvo Buses onsite.

Our state-of-the-art training institute is located at one of the most modern truck dealerships in the Southern Hemisphere. Sitting alongside our CMV Truck & Bus Derrimut Dealership, apprentices have full access to onsite parking, lockers, laundered uniforms, café and gym facilities.

The purpose-built training institute delivers on-the-job elements as part of apprenticeship training, the training institute is equipped with the same tools the dealership uses, helping the apprentice to understand the safe and proper use of the tools they will be utilizing daily. Our in-house technical trainers support apprentices in gaining a TAFE qualification through hands-on experience.
