Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Sydney seeks a hands-on Supervisor within the Truck Bay to lead and coordinate workshop activities, provide technical direction to technicians and apprentices, and ensure repairs and service work are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

You will review repair plans, mentor the team, liaise with customers and suppliers, and drive KPI performance while maintaining HSE compliance. A heavy diesel trade qualification and proven supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Significant workshop and heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Advanced engine product knowledge.
• Experience coaching technicians.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in a workshop/service environment.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Locally valid driver’s licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor technicians and apprentices.
• Coordinate workshop activities to ensure work is completed safely and on schedule.
• Review repair plans, provide technical guidance, and support diagnostic and repair activities.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Monitor team performance and support achievement of operational and service KPIs.
• Prepare quotations, source materials, and coordinate resources required for workshop operations.
• Complete work orders, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Report safety incidents, hazards, and non-conformances to the Workshop Manager.
• Assist with hands-on repairs and support workshop activities as required.

Heavy Diesel Automotive Mechanic Trade Qualification (Cert III preferred)
