Job summary

Midwest Trucks is seeking a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to service a range from small Japanese trucks to large North American prime movers and trailers, including brands like MAN, Western Star, Detroit, Kenworth, Mack, Volvo, Fuso and Hino.

You will perform driveline, clutch, brake and steering work, wheel alignments, inspections and reliable record-keeping. A strong team culture, commitment to safety and ongoing training are emphasized in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy diesel mechanics or similar roles.
• Passion for trucks and heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity is now available for a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance and servicing on Small Japanese trucks to Large North American Prime Movers and trailers. Including brands such as MAN Trucks, Western Star Trucks, Detroit, Kenworth, Mack, Volvo, Fuso, Hino and more.

Key responsibilities

• Driveline and differential repairs
• Clutch replacements
• Brake and wheel repair
• Full Front end and Steering Overhaul & power steering diagnoses
• Brake and running gear
• General wheel alignment
• Carry out inspections and repairs
• Report and record any defects or work required according to service worksheets and job cards

About you

• Passion for trucks - a passion for pulling them apart and putting them back together
• A good amount of experience in similar roles
• Current driver's licence (other licences/training is an advantage)
• Self-motivated with a strong team player mindset
• Good communication skills are preferable
• Demonstrated cleanliness and neatness are essential
