Job summary

Penske Australia in Mackay is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and field service activities on MTU, Detroit Diesel and Allison systems, ensuring safety and reliability for customers across multiple industries.

Reporting to the On Highway Supervisor, you will complete high-standard repairs, perform diagnostics, conduct pre-delivery tests, and document service reports while collaborating with the service team to deliver

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of MTU, Detroit Diesel and/or Allison products is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Complete repair and maintenance work instructions to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults and repair diesel engines and related equipment.
• Conduct pre-delivery testing and inspections.
• Complete accurate job reports and service documentation.
• Participate in field service activities as required.
• Provide proactive customer service and technical support.
• Work safely and comply with HSE and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with the wider service team to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our Mackay team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading products including MTU, Detroit Diesel and Allison Transmission systems while supporting customers across a range of industries.

As part of our professional service team, you will perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and field service activities, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

About the Role

Reporting to the On Highway Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Completing repair and maintenance work instructions to a high standard.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on diesel engines and associated equipment.
• Conducting pre-delivery testing and inspections.
• Completing accurate job reports and service documentation.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of MTU, Detroit Diesel and/or Allison products (highly regarded).
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
