Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Mackay is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join on a permanent, full-time basis. You will provide building maintenance across facilities, focusing on tasks that do not require a qualified tradesperson, while ensuring patient, visitor and staff safety and satisfaction.

You will work with the Manager and Trade Co-ordinator on daily plans and maintenance programs. Key duties include replacing lighting, repairing fixtures, testing patient appliances, and general upkeep.

Qualifications

• Broad/generalist exposure to a range of Maintenance / Handyman concepts.
• Experience in hospital or large commercial complex (desirable).
• Current Drivers Licence (no restrictions).

Responsibilities

• Replace lighting lamps and tubes.
• Repair or replace fixtures and fittings (toilet seats, locks, etc.).
• Test & tag of new patient appliances.
• Minor repairs to walls and fittings.
• Nurse call handset replacement.
