Job summary

The Sydney Private Hospital in Ashfield is seeking a hands-on maintenance all-rounder to repair and maintain our facility, ensuring a safe, clean environment that supports person-centered care.

You will perform emergency, preventative and legislative maintenance, manage procurement of services and equipment, and learn to improve maintenance operations while handling ad hoc duties.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in Facilities or Accommodation settings.
• Ability to repair and maintain hospital facility safely.
• Proactive problem-solving and learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out emergency, preventative and legislative maintenance in compliance with state requirements.
• Procure maintenance services and equipment cost-effectively.
• Understand mains (gas, water and power) and how to isolate.
• Provide a safe, clean facility that promotes person-centered care.
• Learn and continuously improve maintenance operations.
• Undertake other ad hoc duties.

Job description

The Sydney Private Hospital is an 90 bed Surgical and Rehabilitation Hospital located in Ashfield. Surrounded by beautiful gardens with heritage buildings we are close to public transport both train and bus.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a hospital maintenance person, you will be required to repair and maintain the facility and demonstrate a can-do easy approach to problem solving on a daily basis.

DUTIES

• You will be required to undertake the following, however not limited to:
• Ensuring all emergency, preventative and legislative maintenance is carried out in compliance with all State and Regulatory requirements.
• Understanding how to procure maintenance services and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
• Thoroughly understanding all facility services and mains i.e., Gas, water and power mains and how to isolate.
• Provide a safe, clean, quality facility that promotes person centered care.
• Demonstrate an ability to learn and continuously improve all maintenance operations at the facility.
• Other ad hoc duties.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous Maintenance experience in Facilities or Accommodation setting as a Maintenance all-rounder/ Handy Person

Desirable Qualifications:

Trade Qualification is desirable

Carpentry qualification is desirable

Test and Tag Qualification (unless qualified as an Electrician) desirable

Highly developed customer service skills

Highly developed written and verbal skills

Previous experience in a health care setting desirable
