RMIT University in Melbourne seeks a Health & Safety Senior Business Partner to lead complex OHS consultancies, policy development and training across campuses. You will manage regulatory changes, deliver insights, and partner with executives to embed safety into strategy and operations.

Joining the Health, Safety & Risk team, you’ll drive audits, investigations (ICAM) and continuous improvement, building a strong safety culture and reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk management.
• Experience in higher education, research or similar complex environments.
• Ability to analyse complex H&S issues and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent report writing, policy development and investigation documentation.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert OHS advice, complex consultancy and risk management guidance.
• Lead incident investigations and regulatory interventions using ICAM.
• Partner with senior leaders to embed health and safety into strategy and culture.
• Develop and maintain H&S procedures, tools and plans aligned with legislation.
• Analyse H&S data and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Conduct audits and inspections to identify and address compliance and performance risks.
• Monitor H&S metrics and regulatory requirements; support external audits.
• Advise executives on OHS legislation, policies and responsibilities.
• Facilitate consultation with HSRs, safety committees and governance groups.
• Build H&S capability through coaching, training and information sessions.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and enterprise-wide H&S campaigns.
