Our client is a highly successful Australian market leader with a long standing history and a reputation for operational excellence. Employing thousands of people across a diverse portfolio of businesses, they continue to invest in their people, systems and health and safety capability to support sustainable growth.
As part of a well regarded national health and safety team, this newly focused specialist role will play an important part in strengthening health and safety systems, governance and assurance across the organisation.
Reporting to the Systems & Governance Manager, the Health & Safety Systems & Assurance Specialist will lead the ongoing development, implementation and improvement of the organisation's WHS Management System and health and safety assurance framework.
This is a hands on technical role for someone who enjoys making safety systems clear, practical and effective. You will work closely with health and safety, operational, risk, audit and other key stakeholders to ensure WHS requirements are well designed, understood and effectively implemented across the business.
A significant part of the role will also focus on assurance, including shaping the annual audit and assurance program, reviewing the effectiveness of risk controls and supporting improvements in how health and safety performance is monitored and reported.

Rather than simply maintaining an established system, you will have the opportunity to influence how WHS requirements are structured, applied, assured and continuously improved across the business.
The role will suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail of systems and assurance, but can also step back and understand how those systems need to work in a practical operational environment.
