Job summary

Iluka Resources seeks a Health & Safety Superintendent for our Balranald operation. Report to the Operations Manager, you will lead the HSEC team to deliver best practice health, safety, occupational hygiene and injury management outcomes at the Balranald site.

The role requires active leadership, coaching and visible engagement across the operation. You will establish programs, drive continuous improvement, mentor a small multi-disciplinary team, ensure regulatory compliance and manage incident

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with leading practice HSEC management.
• Significant mining industry experience preferred.
• Proven track record in safety, health and hygiene performance.
• Strong understanding of NSW mining legislation.

Responsibilities

• Establish, lead and monitor safety, health and occupational hygiene programs and systems.
• Drive continuous improvement of safety, health and occupational hygiene practices.
• Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal mining and processing activities.
• Maintain statutory compliance with regulators.
• Oversee workers' compensation, injury prevention and injury management processes.
• Influence behavioural change through active site presence and safety leadership.
• Manage and audit site compliance to Group HSEC Standards & Procedures.
• Lead and facilitate incident investigations including ICAMs.
• Analyze investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Develop and manage First Response capabilities to meet site needs.
