Job summary

Prominent Hill, operated by BHP, seeks a Superintendent Safety & Hygiene to lead safety and occupational hygiene for one of Australia’s leading underground mining operations. The role reports to the Manager Health, Safety and Security and drives risk management, governance and continuous improvement on site.

You will build trusted relationships, shape integrated safety strategies, and empower teams to deliver safe, productive operations in a FIFO environment on a 4/3 roster.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong safety and occupational hygiene expertise.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of site safety and occupational hygiene strategies.
• Provide governance and technical expertise to improve safety performance.
• Lead and develop a team while fostering trust and high performance.
