Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team on a full-time basis. The role supports risk management, safety programs, and regulatory compliance across the organisation, delivering training and driving a positive safety culture for staff, patients and visitors.

You will provide expert advice, lead initiatives, perform risk assessments, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Experience interpreting and applying health and safety legislation, regulations, codes of practice and standards.
• Proven ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture within a large and complex organisation.
• Experience leading health and safety programs, risk management activities, audits, investigations and compliance initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, develop reports and provide recommendations to senior leaders and executives.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and training skills; healthcare experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert health and safety advice, coaching and support to employees, managers and senior leaders to strengthen organisational safety performance.
• Lead and support health and safety programs, initiatives and training that promote compliance and a positive safety culture.
• Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, audits and safety reviews to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop, review and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and documentation in line with legislative requirements and best practice.
• Monitor safety performance through data analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement to support continuous improvement initiatives.
