SVHA is seeking a Freedom of Information Officer for the Regulatory Practice Group in Melbourne. The role focuses on administering FOI applications and advising on relevant health information legislation under the FOI Act.

You will handle enquiries, process requests, assess exemptions and draft official responses, while coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant outcomes.

Qualificações

• Experience acting as a Freedom of Information Officer or equivalent role in a legal or health setting (FOI Act experience).
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply FOI legislation, policies, and guidelines.
• Strong judgement and decision-making in handling health information and FOI matters.
• Ability to draft formal correspondence, briefing materials and reports on FOI obligations.
• Experience building trusted relationships with executives, staff and external stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Administer FOI applications and related work under the FOI Act.
• Apply and advise on FOI legislation, policies and guidance for health, personal and corporate information.
• Process FOI requests within required timeframes and advise on exemptions.
• Draft and issue decisions and related correspondence.
• Review complaints and support reviews by the Victorian Information Commissioner.
