Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba – Melbourne VIC is seeking a Freedom of Information Officer within the Regulatory Practice Group. The role focuses on administering FOI applications, advising on legislation, drafting correspondence, and meeting statutory timeframes.

You will engage with applicants and internal stakeholders, reviewing complaints and coordinating reviews with the Victorian Information Commissioner. Experience in FOI, ideally in health or legal services, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with Freedom of Information legislation and related guidelines.
• Ability to interpret health information handling policies and guidelines.
• Ability to draft concise FOI correspondence and briefing material.
• Experience engaging with executives and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist applicants to lodge valid FOI applications.
• Process FOI requests and coordinate with relevant parties.
• Decide on release of information and document exemptions.
• Respond to FOI inquiries within legislative timeframes.
