Job summary

St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is seeking a Freedom of Information Officer to support the Regulatory Practice Group. The role involves administering FOI applications, advising on legislation, and handling enquiries in line with statutory requirements.

You will contribute to reviewing complaints, coordinating responses to higher reviews, and documenting FOI processes. A strong understanding of FOI Act and Health Records Act is essential, with experience in drafting official correspondence and

Qualifications

• Experience acting as a Freedom of Information Officer (or equivalent role), ideally in a legal practice or health service.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge applying relevant legislation, policy, and exercising sound judgement.
• Understanding of the Freedom of Information Act, Health Records Act, and related guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Process Freedom of Information applications and related work.
• Draft correspondence and decisions on releases of information.
• Respond to FOI enquiries within statutory timeframes and advise on exemptions.
