AHPRA Registered Nurse

Job description

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse leader looking for a rewarding role that combines clinical leadership, student wellbeing and genuine work-life balance?

Woodforde Group is proud to partner with one of Brisbane's leading independent schools to recruit a Health Centre Manager. This is a rare opportunity to step away from shift work, weekends, public holidays and on-call responsibilities, while continuing to make a meaningful difference through the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to students and staff.

The role is based within a busy school health centre supporting both day and boarding students.

Your Role

Reporting to the Dean of Students, you will lead the delivery of health services across the school, providing clinical oversight, managing nursing staff and ensuring best-practice healthcare, emergency response and wellbeing support for the school community.

This is a highly visible role that requires a compassionate and approachable leader who can build strong relationships with students, parents, boarding staff, external healthcare providers and school leadership.

The health centre can see a high volume of presentations each day, including boarding students, making this an engaging and varied role for someone who enjoys balancing clinical responsibilities with leadership and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor and support a team of nursing professionals
  • Oversee student health records, care plans and clinical governance
  • Coordinate health services for day and boarding students
  • Provide emergency first aid and clinical assessment when required
  • Manage medication processes, including Schedule 8 medications
  • Coordinate vaccinations, wellbeing initiatives and nursing staff to attend school camps
  • Manage rostering, budgets and operational requirements of the health centre
  • Liaise with parents, medical specialists, allied health providers and school stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with child safeguarding and healthcare standards.
About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Previous leadership or management experience within a healthcare setting
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities
  • Experience managing staff, budgets and operational functions
  • A collaborative, compassionate and relationship-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently while building strong partnerships across the school community

Experience working within a school or educational environment would be highly regarded, however applicants from hospitals, community health, aged care or other clinical settings are encouraged to apply.

What's on Offer?
  • Term-time position working approximately 40 weeks per year + 2 weeks
  • Monday to Friday role with no weekend work, no rostered night shifts and no on-call requirements
  • Family-friendly hours, typically around 7:30am - 3:30pm
  • Supportive and community-focused culture
  • Attractive South Brisbane location with on-site parking.

If you are seeking a leadership role that combines healthcare, wellbeing and education in a supportive and rewarding environment, we would love to hear from you.

At Woodforde Group Consulting we support and celebrate diversity and do not discriminate. We are for all people, regardless of difference, and know that the more inclusive we are the stronger our work culture and the better our service delivery will be.
