NOMAD Melbourne, part of Edition Hospitality, is seeking a Head Sommelier to lead our wine program in a vibrant premium dining setting. You will curate the wine list, train the team, manage purchasing with autonomy, and elevate guest experiences through expert service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years as Assistant/Head Sommelier in Hatted or premium dining restaurants.
• Exceptional guest experience and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Australian wines.
• WSET Diploma or CMS Advanced Certification preferred, but not required
• Proven experience in stocktaking and inventory management
• Familiarity with ordering and invoicing procedures
• Experience with POS system programming
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent administrative capabilities

Responsibilities

• Lead and curate the wine list and program.
• Train and mentor the team to deliver exceptional wine service.
• Elevate guest experiences with expert wine knowledge and storytelling.
• Own purchasing decisions with autonomy to grow the program.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house to align wine with the menu.
