BHP is seeking an experienced Superintendent Strategic Mine Planning to lead Copper SA's strategic mine planning, growth studies, and life-of-asset planning in Adelaide. You will supervise a team delivering ore reserve reporting and evaluate pathways that maximise value, collaborating across operations, geoscience, finance, and the BHP Centre of Excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant mine planning and mining operations experience.
• Underground hard rock mining experience across multiple methods.
• Competent Person for Ore Reserve reporting.
• Strong communication to influence stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Lead strategic mine planning activities for Copper SA assets (Carrapateena and Prominent Hill).
• Develop growth options and evaluate trade-offs to maximise long-term asset value.
• Drive life-of-asset planning, optimisation studies, and expansion opportunities.
• Support annual Ore Reserve estimation and declaration processes.
• Develop mine designs and schedules across multiple underground mining methods.
• Promote enterprise optimisation and support capital allocation planning.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within mine planning processes.
• Provide technical leadership for major studies, projects, and investment evaluations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical, operational, and commercial objectives.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to improve safety, productivity, and value creation.
• Represent Copper SA externally as a leader in mine planning excellence.
• Manage study work packages and external stakeholders where required.
