The City of Perth is looking for a Head of Property Management to lead the Property Management function and own portfolio performance across leasing, tenant relationships, land tenure, financial management, governance and commercial risk.
You will operate at strategic and operational levels, delivering commercially balanced advice and driving value while aligning with governance and community outcomes for WA's capital city.
The City of Perth manages a diverse and strategically significant property portfolio spanning commercial, community, civic and strategic assets.
Reporting to the Alliance Manager Properties, you will lead the City's Property Management function and take ownership of portfolio performance across leasing, tenant relationships, land tenure, financial management, governance and commercial risk.
Operating at both a strategic and operational level, you will bring strong commercial judgement to complex property matters and ensure the portfolio is managed in a way that balances financial performance, sound governance, community value and the City's long-term objectives.
You will also champion contemporary property management practices, including better use of systems, data and digital capability to improve decision-making, service delivery and long-term portfolio performance.
You are an accomplished property professional who combines commercial acumen with strong leadership, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in a complex governance environment.
You understand that successful property management is about more than administering assets — it is about actively managing performance, relationships, risk and opportunity to generate sustainable long-term value.
You will be a credible and influential communicator, capable of navigating competing commercial, organisational and stakeholder priorities while maintaining a clear focus on performance and outcomes.
Above all, you will lead with integrity and embody the City's values of Commitment, Teamwork, Courage and Respect.
This is an opportunity to apply your commercial property expertise in a setting unlike most others.
As Head of Property Management, you will have the opportunity to influence the performance and stewardship of property assets at the heart of Western Australia's capital city, with your decisions contributing to both commercial outcomes and broader community value.
You will join an organisation operating in a rapidly growing capital city environment and work alongside senior leaders on property matters with genuine financial, operational and reputational significance.
The City offers a five-year maximum term contract, a competitive negotiated salary, professional development opportunities and a central workplace at Council House in the heart of Perth's CBD.
The preferred applicant will be required to undertake third-party background checks, including qualification, National Police Clearance, identity and employment history verification.
Canvassing of Councillors during the recruitment process will disqualify your application.
The City of Perth is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from diverse backgrounds to apply.
