Job summary

Green by Nature is seeking a Payroll Transformation Lead to drive the payroll roadmap across Australia and New Zealand from our Mascot-based hub. You will guide a team of six Payroll Team Leaders and Payroll Officers, focusing on governance, compliance and service delivery rather than hands-on processing.

You will partner with Finance and HR to move to a consistent payroll operating model, align HRIS needs, and ensure accurate reporting of payroll tax, leave liabilities and related metrics.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of payroll experience including leading system or process change.
• UKG experience is essential.
• Experience with dispersed blue- and white-collar workforce.
• Strong payroll governance, compliance and controls.
• Practical project, stakeholder and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the payroll transformation roadmap, priorities and milestones with focus on compliance.
• Lead system, process and control changes to support the enterprise workforce management solution.
• Align payroll and HRIS requirements across design, data, integrations, testing and readiness.
• Maintain monthly and annual reporting including payroll tax, leave liabilities and WGEA.
• Strengthen controls and manage key-person dependencies while ensuring service continuity.

The role

Over the past 12 months, we have strengthened our payroll systems, processes and governance. This role will continue that work across Australia and New Zealand and prepare payroll for an enterprise workforce management solution.

Working closely with Finance and HR, you will lead the move to a consistent payroll operating model and guide a team of six Payroll Team Leaders and Payroll Officers. This is an oversight role focused on transformation, compliance and service delivery rather than hands‑on processing.

• Own the payroll transformation roadmap, priorities and milestones, with a strong focus on compliance
• Lead the payroll system, process and control changes needed to support the enterprise workforce management solution
• Align payroll and HRIS requirements across design, data, integrations, testing and implementation readiness
• Maintain monthly and annual reporting, including payroll tax, leave liabilities and WGEA
• Strengthen controls and manage key‑person dependencies while maintaining service continuity

About you

You have 10+ years’ payroll experience, including leading system or process change through to implementation. "You can translate awards and payroll requirements into workable systems and controls.”"

You will bring:

• At least two years’ UKG experience (essential)

• Strong payroll governance, compliance and control capability
