Job summary

Remitly Australia seeks a Head of Operations to act as COO for the Australian entity, overseeing operations and ensuring regulatory compliance across ANZ. Based in Sydney, the role will drive outsourcing governance, customer experience, and scalable processes to support growth. Travel across APAC is expected.

You will lead cross-functional teams, bridge Legal, Compliance, Finance, and IT, and report to the CEO and Board on performance and risk management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in fast-paced operational environments.
• Background in tech/digital, FinTech, banking or related sectors preferred.
• Experience managing outsourced services in regulated markets is essential.
• MBA or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own outsourcing governance with systems to oversee, monitor, and assess performance and risks.
• Govern outsourced service performance and KPI reporting across the business.
• Oversee customer experience outcomes, including complaints handling under regulatory guidance.
• Build and maintain operational resilience and business continuity plans.
• Deliver quarterly Board and executive reporting on operations and outsourcing metrics.
• Scale the operating model and align policies with strategy; manage local vendor relationships.
