Hooker & Heijden in Melbourne seeks a Head of Practice to lead its Financial Lines client practice and join the leadership team. The role involves managing key relationships, shaping strategy and product, and influencing how the business runs in a hands-on leadership capacity.

You will drive growth, work with senior decision makers, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Financial Lines broking, placement or specialist insurance advisory.
• Exposure to financial services clients such as advice businesses, licensees, platforms or fund managers.
• Insurer relationships in Australia and offshore.
• A record of winning and retaining clients.
• Comfort with technology and an interest in better ways of working.
• A degree in Law, Finance or Commerce (highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Leading and growing the financial services client practice.
• Owning relationships with senior decision makers at clients, insurers and referral partners.
• Building new business through referral and partner channels.
• Guiding prospective clients through a structured advisory process.
• Placing and negotiating cover with domestic and overseas insurers.
• Shaping business strategy, operations and new products.
• Improving systems, CRM and data-driven tools.
