Job summary

Hooker & Heijden in Melbourne is seeking an Associate to join its senior broking team, handling a portfolio of financial services clients and turning qualified leads into new business. This client-facing role works closely with the Managing Director and senior Brokers, with a clear path to more senior opportunities.

You will liaise with insurers in Australia and overseas, including the London market, contribute to CRM, data and product development, and may travel interstate and occasionally

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Financial Lines broking or placement.
• Degree in Law, Commerce or Finance (highly regarded).
• Technology, software or data experience (highly regarded).

About the Organisation

Our client is a specialist insurance broker in Melbourne focused on Financial Lines.

It works with businesses across the wealth and financial services sector, and backs its broking with strong technology and data capability.

The business is growing and is adding senior broking talent to support that growth.

About the Role

I am recruiting on behalf of our client seeking an Associate to join its senior broking team.

You’ll look after a portfolio of financial services clients and turn qualified leads into new clients. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director and senior Brokers.

This is a client-facing broking role, not an administration role. There’s a clear path to a more senior position.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a varied portfolio of financial services clients, including advisers, advisory firms and fund managers
• Converting prospects from marketing and partner channels into clients
• Working with insurers in Australia and overseas, including the London market
• Contributing to CRM, data and product development
• Travelling interstate and occasionally overseas for clients and industry events

About You

You’ll have 3+ years in Financial Lines broking or placement.

Ideally you’ll bring:

• An understanding of financial products, investment platforms and how the market works
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgement
• Ambition, and an interest in finance and insurance
• Comfort working to deadlines in a small team
• A degree in Law, Commerce or Finance (highly regarded)
• Technology, software or data experience (highly regarded)

Account Managers and Account Executives from Financial Lines teams at global, national and specialist brokerages will be considered.
