Job summary

NAB in Melbourne seeks a Head of Finance Partnering for Business Lending within Business and Private Banking. You will translate strategy into a clear plan and guide the BL leadership to deliver initiatives within strategic parameters.

You will partner with the CFO to grow the business, drive transformation and ensure sustainable benefits. You will lead a diverse team and deliver standard reporting and financial controls.

Qualifications

• Experience solving complex problems at strategy consultancies, in-house strategy teams or investment banks.
• Ability to engage, collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent written communication for board level presentations and reports.
• Proficiency in developing financial models and strategic frameworks.
• Experience across partnering with divisions, corporate planning and financial control.
• Relevant tertiary qualification, ideally CA/CPA.

Job description

As a Head of, you will join the Business and Private Banking Finance team that’s focused on moving with speed.

In This Head Of Role, You Will

• Translate the strategy of the Business Lending business into a functionally effective plan. Provide the overall direction to the BL leadership team to ensure development and delivery of objectives and initiatives within the strategic parameters.
• Support the BL Executives in partnership with the CFO, to grow the business, align with our strategic ambition and ensure transformation / simplification benefits are achieved in a sustainable and coordinated manner.
• Identify financial and non-financial performance trends through critical review and analysis and develop and recommend strategies to improve business performance.
• Collaborate to ensure simplification by ensuring all standard reporting and financial control activities are delivered in a one-way same way approach across Finance.
• Collaborate with peers to identify and leverage best practice to drive effectiveness uplift across the Finance partner team.
• Lead, coach and develop a diverse team, creating and fostering a feedback culture and a psychologically safe environment, track results, and provide clear follow-up and feedback.

What You Will Bring

• Demonstrated customer 'obsession'.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, likely developed at a strategy consulting firm, in-house strategy team or investment bank (and/or similar related experience).
• Ability to engage, collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent written communication demonstrated by experience in drafting and contributing to board level presentation and reports.
• Proficiency in developing financial models and strategic frameworks.
• Experience across a range of Finance disciplines including partnering with divisions, corporate centre planning and reporting and financial control roles.
• Relevant tertiary qualification, ideally CA/CPA qualified.
