Job summary

NAB is seeking a Senior Business Banking Manager to lead a high-performing team in Sydney’s CBD, driving growth for local businesses and shaping the commercial banking landscape. The role focuses on strategy, customer outcomes, and collaborative deal execution within a fast-paced portfolio.

You will develop business development plans, coordinate with lending specialists, and coach junior bankers to elevate team performance while maintaining a customer-obsessed, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in business banking and/or relationship management within a financial institution.
• Strong capability in building both personal and enterprise brands in internal and external markets.
• Broad knowledge of banking products and services, including transactional and e-commerce solutions.
• Proven ability to collaborate across various business units to obtain the best outcome for customers.
• Ability to provide technical advice and guidance on debt products and deal structuring.
• A strong operating rhythm.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and execute business development strategy for existing and new-to-bank customers.
• Prepare lending proposals with Complex Lending Solutions and Deal Structuring & Execution teams, including information analysis and portfolio management.
• Initiate solutions to stimulate customer growth and implement yearly business plans for the portfolio.
• Support local area performance through customer advocacy, financial metrics, and employee engagement.
• Coach and develop junior colleagues through everyday interactions.

You’ll make an impact each day by:

• Develop, lead and execute business development strategy, for both existing and new to bank customers.
• Working with the Complex Lending Solutions and Deal Structuring & Execution teams in the preparation of business lending proposals, including obtaining and analysing business and industry information, and ongoing portfolio management.
• Initiate solutions to stimulate customer growth in the local market and implement yearly business plans for your complex portfolio.
• Support the delivery of the local area’s performance as measured through customer advocacy, financial metrics and employee engagement.
• Contribute to the growth of the team by coaching and developing junior colleagues through everyday interactions.

You’ll bring to this role
