Job summary

CommBank's CommSec team seeks a Head of Engineering, Customer & Digital to provide strategic technology leadership across customer and digital portfolios. You will partner with product leaders to define the digital roadmap and deliver high-quality technology solutions at pace.

This role offers the chance to influence technology strategy, build engineering capability, and lead transformation across digital, cloud and AI, shaping an exceptional investor experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience shaping and delivering digital, engineering and AI technology strategies.
• Strong people leadership capability, with experience developing leaders and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and align teams around a shared product and technology vision.
• Deep knowledge of modern software engineering, architecture and microservices.
• Experience leading cloud-based technology teams, ideally with exposure to AWS.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, release management and reliable technology operations.
• A data-informed approach to prioritisation, investment decisions and continuous improvement.
• Experience in investment, securities or digital financial services would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for customer and digital experiences.
• Partner with product leaders to translate customer needs and business priorities into scalable technology outcomes.
• Lead the delivery of secure, resilient and high-quality digital and AI capabilities.
• Grow diverse, high-performing engineering teams across multiple locations.
• Strengthen modern engineering, cloud, DevSecOps and continuous delivery practices.
• Own the performance, availability and total cost of ownership of the portfolio's technology assets.
• Align architecture and delivery decisions with enterprise technology strategy and engineering guardrails.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
