Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Valiant Finance, a leading Australian commercial finance platform, is seeking an experienced commercial writer and leader to own and settle a diverse deal pipeline. You’ll champion growth, build a high-performing broker team in Sydney, and maintain strong partnerships with banks and lenders for ongoing deal flow.
You’ll drive end-to-end processes, coach brokers, and align product, marketing and operations to enable efficient lending and scalable growth.
Valiant Finance is an Australian commercial finance platform. In more than 10 years, we’ve worked with over 30,000 businesses and helped secure $3.0bn+ in funding.
We connect businesses with finance from a panel of 95+ lenders through one simple application, and our embedded finance platform builds finance into the sales channels of manufacturers and resellers.
We’re dedicated to helping Aussie businesses cut through the red tape and “get to yes” sooner. We know how difficult the lending market can be to navigate, and we understand the issues businesses face when they seek funding.
This role covers the full spread of commercial lending. On Monday you might be structuring a fitout loan for a dental practice; by Friday you’re working through a multi-million dollar development facility, with a business acquisition and a refinance for a client who has outgrown their bank somewhere in between. You’ll be writing across:
This is a player-coach role for an experienced commercial writer who is ready for the next step. You’ll keep writing and settling your own deals from day one. From there, you’ll quickly start building a team of brokers under you, hiring and coaching them as the pipeline grows, and shaping the strategy for how Valiant wins in commercial lending. Most leadership roles ask you to stop writing. This one doesn’t.
You’ve spent years writing commercial deals yourself, not just residential, as a commercial broker or BDM. You know how a credit team reads a file, you’re accredited with a broad range of lenders, and you’ve had a valuation come in short and still found a way to get the deal settled. You’re not learning commercial here; you’re bringing it, and you’re ready to teach it.
You’ll need your Cert IV and or in Finance and Mortgage Broking. Ideally you have 7+ years of commercial lending experience and have mentored or led other brokers.
