CBHS Health Fund Limited is seeking an experienced assurance leader for a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for ongoing employment. You will shape a second-line assurance approach across member outcomes, remediation work and operational processes, and provide clear reporting to executives and the Board.

You will lead cross-functional teams, assess evidence, and drive timely, defensible assurance recommendations to strengthen governance and controls.

Qualifikationen

• Senior experience in assurance, risk, audit, compliance or financial control in a complex, regulated environment.
• Proven track record designing and leading risk-based assurance across complex programs, operational processes or remediation initiatives.
• Ability to challenge senior stakeholders with analytical judgement and professional scepticism.
• Experience in private health insurance, financial services, or large-scale regulatory remediation is highly regarded.

CBHS is looking for an experienced assurance leader to shape and lead a second-line assurance approach across reviews of member outcomes, associated remediation work, operational processes and financial outcomes. This is a highly visible role for someone who knows how to ask the right questions, test the evidence and turn complex findings into clear, practical advice for executives and governance forums.

Offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for ongoing employment, this is an opportunity to make a lasting contribution to CBHS’s broader assurance, member outcomes and control capability.

What you’ll do

• Lead an independent, risk-based assurance program across reviews of member outcomes, associated remediation work and related operational processes.
• Assess methodologies, controls, calculations, reconciliation and operational outcomes to confirm they are fair, accurate and supported by reliable evidence.
• Provide clear assurance reporting and advice to executives, governance committees and the Board.
• Identify and accelerate material findings, control weaknesses and emerging risks, and confirm corrective actions are sustainably embedded.
• Provide leadership to the Reconciliation Lead and coordinate specialist input across Risk, Finance, Legal, Internal Audit and external advisers.
• Build disciplined assurance, reconciliation and evidence practices that strengthen capability across the organisation.

What you’ll bring

• Substantial senior experience in assurance, risk, audit, compliance or financial control within a complex regulated environment.
• A strong track record of designing and leading risk-based assurance across complex programs, operational processes or member remediation initiatives.
• Excellent analytical judgement, professional scepticism and the confidence to constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
• Strong reconciliation and financial integrity capability, including investigating exceptions and resolving variances.
• The ability to translate complex evidence into concise, defensible advice and governance reporting.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent senior experience; professional membership in audit, risk, accounting, compliance or governance will be well regarded.
• Experience in private health insurance, financial services, member remediation or large-scale regulatory remediation will be highly regarded, particularly where you have worked across complex member, financial, governance or regulatory outcomes.
