Job summary

Optus in Australia seeks a senior leader to drive the AI Platform Engineering & FinOps, overseeing AI runtime platforms, governance and observability. This role partners across technology teams to industrialise AI and advance autonomous network operations.

The role offers flexible hybrid work with three days in the office and two remotely, and a path from senior IC to people leadership over time.

Qualifications

• Experience engineering and operating enterprise AI/ML platforms or high-scale runtime services.
• Strong knowledge of AI infrastructure, cloud, GPU/CPU compute and model routing.
• Proven ability to define platform strategy, governance and roadmaps with measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own AI platform strategy, roadmap and capability maturity for operational AI and autonomous network ops.
• Lead scalable, secure and resilient AI runtime platform engineering and reusable services.
• Drive integration, model serving, inference performance and runtime optimisation across systems.
• Establish AI FinOps, cost management, security and operational assurance practices.
• Measure platform performance, availability, adoption and capacity utilisation.
• Lead cross-functional teams and partnerships to build a high-performing AI platform capability.
