Job summary

BelgraviaPRO seeks a hands-on Head Chef to lead hospitality operations on South Stradbroke Island. You will manage a Café, Bar & Restaurant, develop menus with the Venue Manager, and drive food production, service quality and cost control.

You will shape high-performance teams, deliver memorable guest experiences, and ensure safe, compliant operations while staying within budgeted labour costs. This full-time role blends culinary excellence with strategic oversight.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in food production and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food industry trends and regulations.
• Proficiency in hospitality management systems and operations.
• Customer-centric mindset with a passion for guest experiences.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2).
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
• National Police Check.
• Food Handling Supervisor Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Hires, trains and evaluates staff in food production departments.
• Plans menus in consultation with the Venue Manager.
• Schedules and coordinates chefs, cooks and kitchen staff to ensure economical and correct food prep within labour costs.
• Approves requisition of products and supplies; maintains sanitation and safety standards.
• Leads and motivates kitchen team to deliver high levels of service and ongoing development.
