The ideal candidate has a Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management qualification and at least one year of hands‑on kitchen experience.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure environment.
• Excellent time‑management skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible roster availability, including weekends and public holidays.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.
• Interest in contributing to the restaurant's long‑term growth and reputation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to design and update menu offerings showcasing Indian flavours.
• Prepare a wide variety of Indian dishes following standardised recipes to ensure consistency.
• Adapt dishes for dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan and gluten‑free).
• Oversee kitchen workflow and mise en place before service begins.
• Supervise kitchen staff and allocate tasks during peak service periods.
• Monitor ingredient freshness and conduct regular taste checks.
• Ensure HACCP and local food safety guidelines are followed.
• Assist with inventory, stock checks and supplier liaison.
• Train junior chefs and maintain high standards of teamwork.
• Plan menus for events and private dining; support cost control.
