Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations at the Ensham site in Queensland. You will drive culinary excellence, mentor a diverse team, manage budgets and stock, and uphold strict food safety and OH&S standards.

This role offers a genuine FIFO or DIDO 8/6 roster with a competitive salary of $110,000+ per year, and the chance to advance your career within a national, Australian-owned catering and facilities provider.

Qualifications

• Qualified & experienced as Head Chef or senior Sous Chef ready to take the reins.
• Experience in remote, FIFO/DIDO, bulk catering or large-scale operations is valued.

We are a 100% Australian-owned and operated catering and facilities provider, and we are looking for a passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations at our contract site in Ensham ,QLD At Cater Care, we take pride in creating a "home away from home" for thousands of remote workers, and we need your culinary expertise to make it happen.

The Role

As our Head Chef, you won't just be cooking—you will be the driving force behind the site's culinary success and morale. Your responsibilities will include:

• Team Leadership: Mentoring, motivating, and managing a diverse kitchen crew to deliver exceptional food services.

• Culinary Excellence: Overseeing high-volume food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistent quality and comfort.

• Operational Control: Managing kitchen budgets, stock control, and ordering with autonomy.

• Safety & Compliance: Championing strict food safety, hygiene, and OH&S standards to foster a collaborative and safe environment.

About You

• Qualified & Experienced: You are a Trade Qualified Chef with proven experience as a Head Chef (or you are a superstar Sous Chef ready to take the reins).

• Industry Knowledge: Experience in remote, FIFO/DIDO ,bulk catering, or large-scale hospitality operations is highly regarded.

• Natural Leader: You have strong people skills and know how to build and maintain a positive team culture.

• Organized: You possess excellent time management skills and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.
