Job summary

Archer Hotel in Nowra is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen, delivering pub classics with a modern touch for the local community. This hands-on role requires solid trade qualifications, strong leadership, and a track record of growing a high-performing kitchen team while keeping safety and service at the core.

You will work with FOH to ensure seamless service and a welcoming atmosphere for families and fans alike.

Qualifications

• Trade cooking qualifications and food safety certifications are required.
• Experience leading a kitchen and developing a high-performing team.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving stock.

Responsibilities

• Command the kitchen to run safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Job description

We're searching for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at the Archer Hotel- the beating heart of our local community and the place where pub classics meet plates locals can't get enough of.

Two hours from Sydney's CBD sits The Archer Hotel in the heart of Nowra, and is a local favourite for surrounding suburbs.

We believe in quality food and quality service; it's at the core of what we do and how we operate. Our guests can expect friendly country hospitality with a community feel. We're the perfect place for families to meet for an overdue long lunch, for mates to catch up for a beer and to watch the game, to celebrate a milestone birthday or special event - everything a local should be and more.

Salary: From $85,000 + superannuation + bonus

• Command the kitchen like it's your own, keeping it running smooth, safe, and profitable
• Be a key part of the leadership crew, working closely with the Publican and FOH team
• Share your passion, skills, and creativity to grow a high-performing kitchen team

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

• You've got trade cooking qualifications and food safety certifications sorted
