Job summary

G'day Group in Onslow, WA is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the day-to-day kitchen and deliver memorable guest experiences.

You will manage and develop the kitchen team, plan menus, control food costs and stock, and uphold exemplary food safety and hygiene standards during service.

This role offers a salary of $95,000–$110,000 AUD, plus accommodation and meals, with career development opportunities across Australia’s leading tourism group.

Qualifications

• Head Chef experience in a similar environment.
• Trade qualifications in commercial cookery or equivalent.
• Experience in menu planning and development.
• Strong purchasing, stock and cost-management skills.
• HACCP experience and food hygiene knowledge.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (required).

What you'll be doing

As Head Chef, you'll lead the day-to-day kitchen operation while creating a great experience for our guests.

You'll be responsible for:

• Preparing and presenting consistently high-quality food
• Leading, supporting, training and developing the kitchen team
• Planning menus and creating dishes our guests will enjoy
• Managing ordering, stock rotation, stocktakes and food costs
• Preparing the kitchen and team for efficient service
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards

What you’ll bring

You'll be an experienced chef who is comfortable taking ownership of a commercial kitchen while remaining hands-on during service.

You'll bring:

• Previous Head Chef experience in a similar commercial environment
• Commercial cookery trade qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Experience in menu planning and development
• Strong purchasing, stock and cost-management capability
• HACCP experience and strong food hygiene knowledge
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
