Job summary

Employer Sponsored Jobs in Queensland is seeking a skilled Head Chef to join a growing hospitality business. The role is suited to a chef with proven commercial kitchen experience, strong leadership and a track record of delivering quality food.

Qualifications

• Proven Head Chef experience or strong Sous Chef experience.
• Commercial Cookery qualifications such as Cert III or Cert IV.
• Demonstrated experience leading a kitchen team.
• Strong commercial food preparation and services skills.
• Experience managing menus and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food costing and stock control.
• Strong understanding of foodsafety and hygiene.
• Ability to work Wednesday to Sunday.
• Weekend availability.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Mediterranean cuisine experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of kitchen operations and service standards.
• Lead lunch and dinner preparation and service.
• Oversee breakfast kitchen operations when required.
• Develop and refine seasonal menus.
• Create specials and contribute ideas for functions and events.
• Train, supervise and support kitchen team members.
• Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation.
• Manage food ordering and stock levels.
• Monitor food costs against agreed targets.
• Prepare and manage kitchen staff rosters.
• Maintain HACCP and foodsafety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with venue management.
• Remain hands-on during service and support the team where required.
