Job summary

G&J Radford & Sons Transport Pty Ltd is seeking a HC Interstate Refrigerated Linehaul Driver to join our transport team. This casual role is based in Tully, Queensland, with secure depot parking across Cairns, Tully, Townsville and Brisbane.

You will operate heavy combination vehicles on interstate routes, maintaining refrigerated cargo temperatures and ensuring safe, timely deliveries while representing our commitment to reliability and professional service.

Qualifications

• Valid HC heavy vehicle license and driving credentials.
• BFM accreditation is highly regarded.
• Proven interstate refrigerated linehaul experience.
• Knowledge of food safety and temperature control.
• Understand road safety regs and hours-of-service rules.
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip checks.
• Professional communication and customer service.
• Reliable with strong time management.
• Physically fit for loading/unloading cargo.
• Clean driving record and safety-conscious.
• Willing to travel interstate and varied hours.
• Desirable: National HV Accreditation.

Responsibilities

G&J Radford & Sons Transport Pty Ltd is seeking a HC Interstate Refrigerated Linehaul Driver to join our dynamic transport team. This is a casual position based in Tully, Queensland. With secure depot parking in cairns ,Tully,Townsville and Brisbane on Time off.As an HC Interstate Refrigerated Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy combination vehicles on long-distance routes, maintaining refrigerated cargo at optimal temperatures whilst ensuring safe and timely delivery across interstate routes. This role is crucial to our operations, as you will be the face of our company to clients and the public, representing our commitment to reliable, professional transport services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy combination (HC) vehicles safely and efficiently on interstate routes
• Maintain refrigeration systems throughout transit to ensure cargo integrity and food safety compliance
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements
• Load and secure refrigerated cargo in accordance with weight distribution and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery documentation and communication records
• Comply with all relevant transport legislation, including work and rest hour regulations
• Communicate professionally with clients, dispatch centres and other team members
• Manage fuel consumption and vehicle costs efficiently
• Respond promptly to changing schedules and route adjustments as required
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle

What we're looking for

• Current Heavy Combination (HC) driving licence or equivalent qualification
• BFM accreditation highly regarded
• Proven experience operating refrigerated linehaul vehicles on interstate routes
• Strong understanding of food safety and temperature control protocols
• Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and work and rest hour requirements
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks competently
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Reliability and strong time management capabilities
• Physical fitness to safely handle loading and unloading of cargo
• A clean driving record and safety-conscious approach to work
• Flexibility to work varied hours and interstate travel schedules
• Desirable: National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation or relevant transport certifications
