MJ Mahon Transport, a Queensland-owned family-operated business, seeks a skilled Heavy Combination (HC) Driver to transport perishable goods in refrigerated trucks across QLD/NSW.

Role emphasizes maintaining cold chain, adherence to road transport laws, and delivering excellent service to clients. Successful candidates will join a team with a 4 days on/4 days off roster and dispatch shifts from 9pm to late evening.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy combination refrigerated vehicles and secure loads.
• Monitor temperature to maintain cold chain integrity.
• Maintain logbooks and comply with weight restrictions and freight handling rules.
• Load and unload perishable goods, ensuring accurate counts.
• Provide professional service and communicate with clients.
• Report vehicle defects and assist with basic vehicle maintenance.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and participate in training.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Combination (HC) Driver to join our team. As an HC Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of perishable goods using refrigerated trucks. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining the cold chain, adhering to road transport laws, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Roster

• Routes: Southeast Queensland
• Roster : Structure 4 days on/ 4 days off (Extra Shifts Available)
• Dispatch: 9pm – 10-12 Hour shifts

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

Licensing: Valid Heavy Combination (HC) driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Experience: Proven experience as an HC driver, preferably in refrigerated transport, with knowledge of regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Operation: Safely operate heavy combination refrigerated vehicles, conduct inspections, and secure loads appropriately.
• Temperature Control: Monitor and maintain the temperature within the refrigerated unit to ensure the integrity of perishable goods.
• Compliance: Adhere to road safety regulations, maintain accurate logbooks, and ensure compliance with weight restrictions and freight handling guidelines.
• Freight Handling: Load, unload, and verify the accuracy of perishable goods, ensuring proper securing of loads.
• Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients and customers, providing excellent service and representing the company professionally.
• Maintenance: Report vehicle defects, perform minor maintenance tasks, and maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.
• Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations, participate in safety training, and ensure a safe working environment.
