Job summary

ChemCentre’s Emergency Response team seeks a chemist to develop analytical methods and response procedures for HAZMAT/CBRN incidents. You will provide scientific expertise during emergency responses, liaise with clients and stake-holders, and contribute to R&D programs.

A degree in Chemistry or related field is required, with licensed WA driver status a must. You will work in a high-paced, on-call environment with potential intrastate deployment and a fixed-term 12-month appointment, with

• Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience with chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical methods and response procedures for HAZMAT/CBRN and Dangerous Goods incidents.
• Provide scientific expertise during emergency response activities and liaise with clients.
• Contribute to R&D programs in this area and respond to complex scientific enquiries.
